Fire expertise and approvals

Overview

Fire expertise and approvals

What is the correct application of a tested product? How did a product perform in a real fire?

Product & system assessment

The laboratory assessments are studies based on test report analysis of conventional fire tests already carried out, and may lead to the issuance of:

  • An extension of field of application (EXAP) to validate minor modifications on the element already covered by the initial classification report
  • A classification report defining the field of application of the fire resistance elements
  • On-site approvals following modifications to the tested elements.
  • An on-site assessment when the study requires further measurements in-situ

The objective of these studies is provide an optimized answer to the client in terms of cost and time constraints. These can also be based on modeling studies for honing the justifications or recommendations.

These studies are intended for all those involved in fire safety (architects, inspectors, contractors, etc.), and can be considered for any type of construction for which a fire resistance performance is expected.

Fire investigation

The Search for the Causes and Circumstance of a fire requires compliance with a particular methodology for identifying the place and point of origin of a fire. The post-fire investigation may require specific analysis or reconstructions of the phenomena involved.

Efectis makes its technical and scientific knowledge and resources available to the parties to quantify the phenomena observed and have the supporting justification they need to support truth-finding and assess their responsibilities.

Efectis thus offers, to better meet the expectations of its customers in post-fire investigation, to benefit from a synergy of skills based on:

  • 50 years of small and large scale fire tests
  • 30 years in use of fire modelling
  • 25 years in the operational firefighting
  • 15 years of experience in process engineering
