Efectis is a company created in 2004 by CTICM in France and TNO in the Netherlands, to be the European leader in fire science, engineering, tests, inspection and certification. CTICM and TNO decided to merge their respective fire related activities (more than 60 years of experience) in one single European company, Efectis.

 

The CTICM (Centre Technique Industriel de la Construction Métallique) is a French scientific and technical centre dedicated to promote steel construction. Its mission is to promote technical progress, to contribute in improving productivity and to guarantee quality in the steel construction industry.

 

TNO is a Dutch national and independent research center.

 

 

January 2004: CTICM and TNO create Efectis Grouping (an EEIG : European Economic Interest Grouping) in order to organize a laboratory network gathering the best professionals in Europe with a unique objective to provide high level quality services to all their customers, supporting them in the market evolution from National to European.

 

October 2005: Sintef NBL (Norway) becomes a member of Efectis Grouping.

 

December 2006: Efectis Nederland and Efectis France are created. These entities replace TNO and CTICM in the Grouping.

 

July 2007: Afiti-Licof (Spain) becomes a partner.

 

December 2007: creation of Efectis Group (Efectis France and Efectis Nederland).

 

July 2008: Afiti-Licof becomes a member of Efectis Grouping.

 

February 2009: the certification department of the CTICM becomes a member of Efectis Grouping.

 

August 2009: Afiti-Licof and Efectis create the company Efectis Ibérica, in order to develop fire safety engineering in the Iberian Peninsula.

 

August 2010: Era (Turkey) and Efectis sign a MOU for the creation of the first fire resistance and reaction to fire testing laboratory in Turkey.

 

April 2011: By decision of the management board of Efectis, Efectis branding is exclusively developed and promoted by Efectis Group. Efectis Grouping stops its activities and transfers the competences and staff to Efectis Group. Sintef NBL, Afiti-Licof and CTICM Certification Department remain strategic partners.

 

May 2011: Era and Efectis create the company Efectis Era Avrasya, the first and only fire resistance and reaction to fire testing laboratory in Turkey.

 

February 2012 : Ancient monuments and historic buildings are a challenge in terms of fire safety (safety of visitors, protection of monuments and works of art). Therefore, Efectis Group created the brand Stonevox. Stonevox is dedicated to the diagnostics, analyses and consulting in the field of ancient monuments and historic buildings of all types.
