{"id":76260,"date":"2023-03-07T16:35:55","date_gmt":"2023-03-07T15:35:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/efectis.demediagraaf.dev\/?p=76260"},"modified":"2023-03-07T16:35:56","modified_gmt":"2023-03-07T15:35:56","slug":"fire-safety-of-a-fish-factory-faroe-islands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/efectis.com\/en\/fire-safety-of-a-fish-factory-faroe-islands\/","title":{"rendered":"Fire safety of a fish factory, Faroe Islands"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For a new fish feed factory on the Faroe Islands, the company Verkfo asked us to determine the heat of combustion of the salmon feed produced in this beautiful country.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a requirement imposed by the local authorities in order to assess the fire safety of the storage units and issue the permits needed in the Faroes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The heat of combustion is defined as the thermal energy produced by the combustion of unit mass of a given solid substance and expressed in megajoules per kilogram [MJ\/kg].<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Efectis NL determined the gross heat of combustion of the fish feed by performing tests according to the EN ISO 1716:2018. Efectis NL has ISO 17025 accreditation to perform these tests. Verkfo witnessed the preparation and performance of the tests via Microsoft Teams, which is a new service at Efectis NL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More information about the test is available <a href=\"https:\/\/efectis.demediagraaf.dev\/en\/new-equipment-reaction-fire-according-en-iso-1716-efectis-netherlands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Takk <\/em>[thank you] Verkfo for this interesting case and for having the tests performed at Efectis NL.
