Kocaeli, Türkiye – 9 August 2021 – Efectis Era Avrasya, part of Efectis Group, hosted a free one-hour webinar entitled “The CE marking of fire-resistant and smokeproof doors within the scope of EN 16034’’, specifically aimed at door manufacturers.

Hosted by Product Certification Manager Fatih Demiral and Laboratory Manager Ali Bayraktar, the webinar was designed to inform participants about the harmonised standard of CE marking according to EN 16034, to clarify the certification and fire testing process of doors.

With more than ten years of experience as a product certification manager, Fatih Demiral has gained extensive experience of standard and ad-hoc systems in the fire safety industry. Through the webinar he gave details of all the third-party certification schemes, by explaining comprehensively both the manufacturer’s and the Notified Body’s responsibilities and check lists. Based on the sampling and the factory production control audit, this is always the trusted way of ensuring compliance and of verifying a fire door’s performance, manufacturing process and quality assurance.

Ali Bayraktar provided a detailed explanation of the testing requirements and methods by giving information on the tests processes involving the six characteristics that are linked to the performance of fire-resistant and smokeproof doors. Each characteristic describes a different performance in the field of smoke control, the ability to release, the self-closing aspect and obviously the fire resistance itself.

Efectis Era Avrasya, as Notified Body No 2184, performs the required tests and issues the Certificate of Consistency of Performance, thereby providing an independent assurance to specifiers and purchasers that products meet the Construction Product Regulations (CPR 305/2011/EU).
