The notion of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), becomes a subject that the industry shall master. Proof of this can be seen in the increasing number of regulatory openings for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), whether in France with the Environmental Regulation (RE2020) already in force, or in Europe with the Construction Products Regulation (CPR 2024), which introduces environmental performance assessment as part of CE marking, becoming a progressive requirement for all construction products placed on the European market.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is a standardized scientific method (ISO 14040/14044) that objectively quantifies the environmental impact of a product across every stage of its life cycle (production, transport, use, end-of-life). Recognized by authorities like the European Commission, it provides a comprehensive framework for assessing environmental sustainability and guiding eco-design decisions.

The LCA is now essential for construction product manufacturers in the form of a FDES, EPD or PEP, as clients are increasingly demanding it. In the near future, these environmental declarations will be mandatory for placing any construction product on the European market as part of CE marking.

This is why, since 2023, Efectis teams have been developing their expertise in the field of the circular economy as applied to construction products. Efectis is now ready to support manufacturers in producing these essential tools for meeting regulatory requirements and standing out in the market.
