At the beginning of this new year, I want to take this opportunity to wish you a healthy and happy 2021.
There is no doubt that 2020 was a challenging year for us all, but the new year 2021 promises to be challenging as well.
The first months of 2021 will be about managing the tail end of 2020’s major issues – COVID-19 and Brexit. In 2020, Efectis took the required measures to work closely with our clients to address any needs related to their construction projects. Our staff were active during the COVID-19 crisis and they continue to be available to listen to our clients during the new year.
With the current travel restrictions, our testing service is streaming your tests online to avoid any non-essential travel following the test in our labs. Moreover, we are working closely with local subcontractors and suppliers to provide a full remote service. We are also deploying our mobile furnace across the EU to conduct tests in your area when suitable.
After more than four years of negotiations, the EU and the UK have concluded a post-Brexit trade deal. The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessment) marking is a new UK product marking that is used for products being placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales, and Scotland). It covers most products that previously required the CE marking. Please don’t hesitate to contact our certification team to discuss any possible impact on your products.
